The PADI Assistant Instructor course marks a transitional step in the journey of professional dive educators, bridging the gap between Divemaster and Open Water Scuba Instructor. This comprehensive program is designed to enhance your knowledge, skills, and teaching methodologies, preparing you to take on a more substantial educational leadership role in diver education. In the Assistant Instructor course, you will learn to use PADI’s world-renowned teaching techniques and philosophies.

Throughout the course, you'll learn how to teach in confined water, open water, and classroom knowledge development to be prepared to transition to complete the OWSI portion of the IDC/IE when you’re ready.  For those who may be unsure if they want to fully commit to the role of Instructor, this is an excellent midpoint. Key components of the program include: mastering the art of effective academic teaching presentations, and refining your demonstration and teaching of core diving skills to instructor-level standards.

Upon successful completion of the PADI Assistant Instructor course, you will not only broaden your teaching capabilities but also open up new career opportunities within the dive industry. Assistant Instructors are eligible to teach certain PADI programs independently and assist Instructors in conducting a wide range of PADI courses, enriching the learning experience for both themselves and their students.

This course is an essential milestone for dive professionals who are passionate about education, committed to promoting safe diving practices, and eager to inspire the next generation of divers. Whether you aim to continue your professional development towards becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or want to expand your instructional capabilities, the PADI Assistant Instructor course is your next step.
